When I enter either Gray Ghost or LadyHawk in a show, especially a multi-day indoor show, I'll often also display some diecast depicting production 'Birds throughout the years. This is the series of white models, all in 1:18, that can be shown on the rear package shelf of Gray Ghost or in a multi-tier 'birdcage' in the case of LadyHawk:

Wouldn't it just be the cat's meow to have each of these in 1:1 scale?

Hope you find as much enjoyment in this obsession as I do!

Very nice!
I still never picked up that 1980 Indy pace car.
I was kinda mad that Greenlight did such a crappy job, just using the stock shaker hood, instead of a turbo hood.
You would think they would redo it, correctly.
I also haven't picked up the Lane Firebird yet either.
But, I have changed a few interiors in the 1970 Trans Ams, thus having a few more different examples.
And have you gotten the new 1989 20th Anniversary Turbo Trans Am T-Top yet, without the door decals?
It is limited to 1550, the same exact amount as the real 1/1 scale cars.
I am looking for my car number, number 231.
There is also a hardtop version, limited to I think 360 made.
I still have to get that one.
I'll be posting up a few photos of some of my stuff later.

George, I believe that '80 model with the shaker instead of the turbo hood is just a re-issue of the Yat-Ming '79 model. I have two variations of the black - with snowflake and turbo rims, a red one that came in the Toys-R-Us set of three and the TATA in silver (doh!). I used a third black one to make a replica of Gray Ghost.

Ya,
They just put it out real fast to make money.
The cars sold for more than what Yat Ming was selling theirs for.
I love your Grey Ghost conversion!
How did you get the hood bird?
That's the only thing from holding me back from repainting some second gens.
I want to make custom lience plates for the cars too, to match my 1/1 cars!
And yes, I have all those ones you mention.
Including the wheel variations too.

The hoodbird is actually a sailpanel bird from Phoenix Graphix! It's still a little larger than scale, but fits the hood with very little trimming. I had purchased a full set of decals for Gray Ghost from Phoenix and they honored my request for a half-dozen extra sailpanel birds.

A spare Ertl Lucern Blue '70 donated the Rallye II rims that fit the Yat Ming tires and wheel backs closely enough.

Cool!
Do you have an extra white 1970 Trans Am by Ertl?
I bought spares, and swapped the interiors between them.
So, a white car with the blue interior, and a white car with the black interior.
And yes, I still have a few extras left over too.
Thanks for the leads up on those sailpanel birds, I have quite a few NOS birds. Now, I'll have to go look thru them.
