Well my shifter cable finally had it. I went to pick up our TA from another shop that was suppose to put floors in (that is a story for another post) and it would not go into park and wanted to start in gear.

The tranny is brand new so I knew it had to be the cable.

The cable is changed and she will be back on track for her resto in our shop soon.

Had the same issue with Gray Ghost. Check all your ground connections - especially the braided strap from the engine block to the firewall. Because the shifter cable connects to the transmission case and to body ground - it will sometimes become 'welded' tight by current running through it all the time. The solution is to make sure there's a better ground path offering less resistance than the shifter cable - that would normally be the aforementioned braided strap.
