Do you guys think there would there be any interest in a Video forum for members to post videos of their cars?

The other one I was thinking would be a Bench racing forum for posting time slips from actual racetracks not street races.

Just a couple of thoughts.

Pete

I think a video thread section is cool. We've made threads on other sites but they don't have a section specifically for member videos.

I hope that's not a requirement for the video thread, we might be waiting a while if we have to wait on you!

DOH!

For the most part I started at between $7.50 and $8.50 US and peaked at just under $20. (That's book time/commission.)

Is that per hour mate?
and without being rude what do you do for a living?
Its hard to judge the wage comparison as i only know the Motor Trade.

This is very interesting! Something that none of the other forums have even thought to do. I love this place more every single day! :D

Yes, that's per hour back when I was working on cars too. But it was hours according to the labor giude. If the guide said a job takes 4 hours to do, that's what was charged to the customer and that's what we got paid no matter if it actually took 3 hours or 6. A good mechanic could pull down 50 to 60 hours of labor in a 40 hour week. But not all can. I know of a lot of guys that got out of it because they were losing time and money because they couldn't do a lot of the work in the time that the guides said.

Now I'm working on factory production machines (plastic blow mold machinery) so I'm paid on the clock.

Ok mate with the current exchange rate and depending on which part of the country you live in an average mechanics wage is about $15 to $20 per hour.

If you live in London then you can earn more but the cost of living is horrendous, in Cornwall for example ( far south west ) its about $10 - $15 per hour , but ill be honest mate it randomly fluctauates and alot depends on experience etc.

Me personally i earn approx $20 per hour which is considered reasonable ( ish ) for where i am and for what i actually do!
You get taxed on this so you actually take home about $600 a week, but i think the cost of living is higher here.
Fuel is about $10 plus a gallon, a new Mustang 08 GT 300bhp approx $50,000 ( thats one im not sure how it compares you guys will have to tell me ).
House prices etc are just outrageous!
