My family and I are blessed to live out in the country. It is the kind of place where time stops, a million stars come out at night, and lightning bugs roam in the Summer. We live on a 5 acre Ranch with our horses.

I know I live too far out in the country. No cell coverage...heck my Verizon network stops about 5 or 6 miles North of me at the Bait Shop...lol...no pizza delivery...well you get the picture.

But today was just too funny! I knew we lived too far out when around lunch I heard a loud noise outside, so I went to see what it was and I had 3 goats staring at me on the back porch…one was sitting in a chair… I wish I would have had a camera handy…so I got some feed and lead them back…and laughed the whole time.

We love it out here! :D

Please write back with one of your country stories.

Thanks,
Hooper

Well, I'm not in the counrty here. But I'm just too far away from the rest of the world.
But back in NH I lived up in the northern part of the state for a few years. The property I lived on backed right up to the Conn. River (actually Moore Res. where they had sunk a town with the Moore Dam back in the 50s). We used to get black bear, porqupine, deer, moose, turkey, geese, loons - you name it right up to our back door. It was common to have to stop and wait for the turkeys to get across the road.

Wish we had the means or given the opportunity, it would be nice to live out in the country. We are currently selling to move to a more remote location. thanks for sharing.

I've been in the country many times...had a ball out there. But, I've always lived in the city. I love that everything is within a short driving distance and I sometimes feel more secure knowing that there are other people who live around me, city cops, street lights...etc.

The country has always had an effect on me though. It's really hard to explain. I'm 50/50 both ways. There's so much you can do in the country, but not in the city...and the other way around too.

It all really depends on where you were born and raised, I suppose.

I grew up in the country and now live in a city so i guess im fortunate to have seen both.

no real funny stories that i can think of at the moment ( just got in from work ) but i did grow up in what is supposed to be the most HAUNTED village in the UK .
Its called PLUCKLEY in KENT, i forget how many GHOSTS its supposed to have.

I really miss living in the country, one of these days I'm going to get back. I miss the freedom you have and there is always something to do.
