I am in the process of restoring a 1979 Trans Am and I'm needing my dash bezel restored to it's original luster. Any recomendations on who does the best job, cheapest, fastest, (or whatever),... by this group of T/A enthusiast will be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!

If you're trying to do it yourself, a gentle cleanser and a dish sponge will do nicely. Just be certain to lay the piece on a flat, smooth surface to prevent damaging it. You'll be amazed at the difference just a little elbow grease can make.

If the part is already damaged or you just have to have that 'brand new' appearance, I believe Year One (or Ames, or any of the Firebird specialty folks) offer a new replacement. Probably cheaper than paying someone else to do the work.

Thanks 99 for the input. My bezel is pitted pertty bad in a few spots. And your correct about me wanting an "All Out NEW" look. I've checked out Year One, like you said. If I want the best, I'm gonna have to pay for it. BUT, I have found a guy in Texas that runs SouthTexasTransAm.Com that offers a sheet of this same design that sticks like tape. Are you familiar with this? I've seen a bezel on ebay that has been done with this stuff and it's brighter than new. REALLY! It's that brilliant. I've ordered a sheet and it's only $19 for a single sheet, which is good for 1 bezel. My only concern is, is it going to be TOO bright. Now, I know what some people reading this will think. You CAN'T get to bright, right? But again, remember, I'm wanting to go back ORIGINAL with this car. If the dash is going to be FLORESANT ALLUMINUM, then it might take away from the rest of the car. Am I correct in thinking this way, or am I being too nit picky. Give me your input. Thanks again!
