Well gang, I'm trying to decide whether or not to put a bird on the hood of the '99.

The car is Navy Blue Metallic, the bird will be white.

I ordered a super cheap one from eBay, if I like it I can get a "real" one, if not I'm only out $40 bucks or so...

Part of me says that it will looks too "busy" and not clean or sleek.

But then I think it'll be different and a little nostalgic...

What do you guys think?

Well, I have a 99 navy blue metallic TA too and I'd love to see how it looks on your car. Is yours a Ram Air car?

I've debated on putting on a decal from phoenix graphix but I think their 4th gen kits look silly especially on non Ram Air Cars so I never did it but a white decal might look much cleaner so if you do decide to put it on. Make sure I see some pics!

Unfortunatel it's not a "real" WS6 but it does have the RamAir hood. I heard that it doesn't work because of the intakes... but we'll see!

I will definitely post pics!

It works, but you have to do a little trimming. A couple of HPP issues agao, there were some letters to the editor with pics of ram air late-4th gens with birds on the hoods.

I saw the article where they used a '79 style bird on the flat hood 4th gen... I think it was a blue convertible. It looked pretty good although they did have to trim a few feathers.

in the Feb 2009 Poncho Post (readers write section of HPP), two people wrote in with pics of their WS6 Ram Air hoods with 2nd Gen hoodbirds on them. A dark blue had an orange/black bird that looked great. Another was called the 'Phantom Special Edition' with the new billet Year One snowflakes, gold pinstriping and a gold hoodbird on a starlight black car.

Well my new dash panel just arrived for the '99 along with the bird kit! AND I went to the post office and found the latest Pontiac Enthusiast had an '01 with the loop style bird on it...... guy said it took 6 hours :|

But how awesome is that to get it all in one day?!

I will lots of fun and frustration this weekend! :D

I say do what you feel. I actually like the look of the 4th gens. with birds on the hood. I feel that it's keeping the original idea alive in modern times.
