My intentions / use
Keep the car registered and streetable.
Continue to ccasionally drag race the car at the strip. (it will never be really quick but it's fun)
Continue to move up in NASA's HPDE classes at road race tracks and eventually run time trials.
Continue to attend Top Speed events at the ECTA and eventually go to Bonneville where I'd like to hit 200 MPH
start entering Open road racing events with the goal of running in the unlimited class.
Use the car for testing and promotion of products for a new company I started.
Although the car wasn't required to have a rollbar at drag races the tech officials kept giving me grief about the harness setup.
At the ECTA I was limited to 135 MPH without rollover protection and harnesses attached to a rollbar. They let me get away with 136-37 but warned me that over 140 just once and they'd ban me till I had a rollbar.
At Road Atlanta the NASA events officials came to my pits and had a little chat about the speeds I was going without a cage.
I figure since I like to spend a lot of time well over 100 MPH I'd better get some serious equipment so that if something does go wrong I might live to play another day even if the car s totaled. Here's the type of thing that can happen at top speed events.
