The Return Home Edition
September, 2008
Hello Firebird Friends,
Now that we are home, it is back to business. Again, a VERY special thank you ALL from my family and I on your emails, (PM)s, calls, thoughts, and prayers during our recent hurricane experience.
The family and I got back today from our Hurricane evacuation. We were VERY BLESSED with no damage even though the hurricane passed 45 minutes to 1 hour away from our home.
Since I had to leave our projects behind, I had to prepare the garage for the worst. Last time, when Katrina hit, the same distance from us, but to the West of us it put 3 feet of water in our home.
With a few more hurricanes spinning this way, we wish a safe time to all of you on the East coast and Florida. Please keep us posted.
“71blueta”, the September SCC car of the month winner, will be representing SCC at the upcoming Summit Ban-One show this Saturday, September 6th. His car will be on one of the rotating platforms at the entrance of the show. See the Events page for more details on this show and others.
August was a busy month for SCC and September looks to be even busier! With more sponsors and members coming onboard there are plans to have a presence at 3 to 4 shows coming up. There is more information about those upcoming shows on the Events page.

With more hurricanes possibly heading our way, we will have to play it by ear.
A VERY special thank you to Kevin Morgan for representing SCC at his “Bring It Back” booth during the 2008 Trans-Am Nationals and Scott’s Computing for sponsoring the banner!
(SCC Members - Left “Raven” from Scott’s Computing with Kevin Morgan on the right.)
We are currently taking preorders for a special “SCC 2008 Inaugural Year Member” shirt. The “SCC 2008 Inaugural Year Member” shirt is our first official fundraiser for Mason’s car restoration and to help restore Kevin Morgan’s car after the recent engine fire.
(Mason with his 1977 Trans-Am...the car that started SCC…nicknamed “Flashback”.)
On Mason’s car, we have some major cost coming up such as blasting the frame, interior, and building the engine/tranny. All of the profit from our original parts sales, SCC merchandise, and sponsorships goes towards his car. Mason is a hard worker and he even helps me with my car! It makes me very proud to see him out there working!

If you would like to preorder this special fundraiser shirt please (PM) me (hardtop77) your size and address. As soon as I get a general count of how many members would like a shirt, I will be able to post a price. For your convenience, we will be offering PayPal as a payment option in the SCC Store section of the website.
Please visit the SCC Store by clicking the following link. We have several shirts, hats, mugs, clocks, and more to choose from in a variety of sizes and colors.

Mark King from YearOne recently sent Mason and his brother, Logan, and I a wonderful care package.
(R to L Mason, Logan...It was filled with shirts, hats, and coloring books.)
We were all extremely excited! Mason staid up late that night with his desk lamp on and colored like crazy.
The SCC Staff, Mason and Logan sent Mark and a co-worker, Mike Ashworth, who told Mark about SCC, each a shirt and clock as a “thank you”. We plan to visit YearOne on September 20th for the Braselton Bash.
As SCC grows, we will be selling more items at the shows and events where we have a presence. All of this is thanks to you...the members! A VERY special thank you to ALL of you from Mason and I! Keep sending in those orders for original parts, posts to the forum updating us on your adventures and restorations, as well as, those helpful tips to fellow members.
Also, a VERY special thank you to all the members that were able to go to the 2008 Trans-Am Nationals, represent SCC, and send back pictures to share their experience with the rest of us!
If you would like to check in on the progress of our two Trans-Am restoration projects “Flashback” (my son’s car) and “Overtime” (my car), we have updated pictures on the website.
