Got to meet Kevin Harvic and Richard Childress during a promo office visit just prior to the 2007 Daytona 500.

So Jim,
You are a pilot too?
My brother has 4 T-34 Mentors, 2 in show condition, 1 at a shop getting a AD done, so it can be restored as well.
The other, still in many pieces.
We just dropped off one project in Amarillo, Texas, for AD work.
Both of his show planes are in Daytona Beach, Florida.

George

No, I solo'ed and that was about the end of that. I determined that I was more of a 'fair weather flyer' and that, as hobbies go, flying is just too darn expensive. I still go up whenever the opportunity arises, just not as pilot-in-command. I had an opportunity recently to ride with a chopper-jock and do some aerial photography of a 'Classic Wings & Classic Cars' show at the local airport. That was an absolute blast! My wife's cousin's husband (try to figure that relationship) is a police helicoptor pilot in Dallas who also flies Med-Evac and does aerial traffic reports for radio stations there. I love flying with him when we visit. He's got a couple years on us, having earned his wings over Vietnam.
