this story is full of happiness, a first love, marriage, tragedy, great sadness, and renewed joy, just not in that order.

It was early 2003, I had just married a beautiful women (Elizabeth, married to for 5 years) we had received a decent amount of money as wedding gifts from friends and family and stumbled upon a beautiful piece of machinery. my wife knew that i wanted it and so we bought it. what exactly was it you ask? a beautiful 1980 Firebird Trans Am. it was blue, 305 v8, automatic transmission and started up witout any coaxing and for $500 it was ours. we put many miles on the car that year and my wife was in school. i started restoring it (well for 500 dollars it did need some work) then came the day when my wife said we needed to sell it (yep this is the great sadness) as i was entering the army and she didnt want to haul it around the country and we had no place to store it. so we parted ways with the car but my wife promised to buy me another trans am one day. the next year i was stationed at ft bragg north carolina, my wife had just recked our saturn ion and we were out shopping for a different car and we came upon a beautifull specimen, it was a 2000 mystic teal trans am, 6 speed transmision, beautiful shape and it came with a power programmer. my wife kept to her promise and i had a new trans am!! it was not the same as my old one but still a beautiful (and much faster) machine. i traveled all over the country in the car without any problems, that is until last fall. the car was involved in a collision (tragedy!!) i am currently re-building it, slowly as i am in college now and have little in the means of time and money but it will be rebuilt with in two years and i cant wait to get it on the road again.

It made a beautiful car once again once it was returned to its former state! Very nice work! We gotta save all the birds we can! Can't afford to lose any!

so i was at my brothers house (which happens to be where my t/a is) and i helped him put my t/a rims on his s10, my car is sitting on an old set of iroc rims which i had lying around, doesnt matter much though because i cant drive it. anyhow, i took some pics of it in the current state.

Image

the red circles are the areas which still need "major" metal work, the blue circles indicate some area which need some pounding to get back into shape, and the ~yellow is the a/c system which i am removing and is for sale if someone wants it (i also have the condensor which is in good shape).

here is the side view, and the guy in the lower right corner is my 2yo nephew, he is so cute!!

Image

here is my brothers truck on my t/a rims, he plans on getting a new bed, doing some major body work, and putting a v8 in there.

here is my car on irocs, i wouldnt drive it with those on because they rub (just barely) the brakes
