If you scroll down you can find updates to this post. :D I will also be posting pics on SCC 360 on the SCC website. Thanks for your interest in our project!

Most have you have read the story of how SCC got started on the About Us page on the SCC website. If not you can click on http://www.screaminchickenchasers.com/about_us and read the story “A Bird in the Hand…Our Story” to see how SCC all began.

I found a picture of the car right before I sold it and thought I would share it with you.

The picture does not do it justice because the exterior of the car was in great shape with the original paint job and decals. The black interior was in even better shape with nice high back seats. There were no cracks in the dash or cigarette burns on the center console. The back seats looked like they had never been sat in.

Here is a small timeline. I had remembered I sold it about 10 years ago, which it ended up being 12 years. My how time flys!

I purchased the car on 9/26/95.

This is the shape my boys and I found her in on 9/22/07. Just 4 days before the 12th anniversary of selling her.
Image

I did not recognize her from the front. It took me finding my way around to the back and recognizing some bumper stickers. Funny what you remember.
Image

She was loaded up and we headed home with her on 10/1/07.

She settled into her nest and we checked out her condition and took inventory on what we needed.
Image

My wreck happened on 12/12/07. (I did not include pictures of my wreck in an effort not to be gruesome.) The wreck was a defining moment in my life and a cornerstone in the formation of SCC.

SCC Forum goes online on 2/26/08.

Demolition began. You have to tear apart in order to rebuild.

This is the current shape of the car as of 5/16/08.

The firewall has been cleaned off and prepped.

We will be taking the rest of the factory paint off inside and out and starting the major body work. Once we have the body under control, she will be coming off the frame and it will be blasted and coated. We will install new brake and gas lines, as well as, new bushings. Currently are searching for a better truck lid.

The motor and interior parts cleaning will happen at the same time.

We have all the seats, dash, console, gauges, and trim pieces. We will be reviewing the condition of those parts in the weeks and months ahead.

We will keep you informed of our progress.

I hope you enjoyed this little bit about our project. There are more great things to come because of people like you!

I "wire-wheeled" the entire firewall tonight and used the D/A above the passenger window. The entire firewall should be in primer by tomorrow evening. :D

Here is the firewall 90% complete.

Thanks for posting this, Hooper! This is a great timeline of events that makes the restoration more interesting and worthwhile! I wish you the best of luck during the restoration and can't wait to see the finished product! :D
