I agree. I never really kept track of mine, and it changed from one car to another that I was driving so much that it made it harder to remember. But the ones that stand out are the Porsche 944 that I outmaneuvered through a construction detour in my 260 powered ’77 Cutlass with the highly modified suspension. The Ferrari 318 that I tied with on an open highway in the same car and the mid ‘80s Formula that I beat, but over-revved the engine and caused it’s demise against. Then the 911 I took off the line in an identical Cutlass – with the exception of the 455 engine. And the Stealth RT that was owned by one of the Kondos brothers of Dallas that I beat in my Olds 455 powered, primer grey ’72 C10. Oh and my worst mistake – the pair of Mustang 5.0 GTs that I raced in that truck. One had NOS and I did win, but nearly killed myself and several others doing it. :?

I've owned my LS1 for 10 yrs now and most of those runs were over the first 5-7 yrs. My Daughter is now 3 and after she was born for obvious reasons I had to change my ways I still once in a while get that urge and that craving for speed though.
My old `79 T/A had maybe 1000 street runs on it.
We're talking 3-4 runs a night every weekend for 5 straight years even through the winter depending on weather. Sometimes I miss that car but the LS1 is SOO much faster.

I'm not going to lie! I've street raced before, but I look back and realize how stupid it was...and I regret doing it. I now look to baby my vehicles and use proper care all the way around. Since I've owned my RedBird, I can tell you that it has never been abused.

I do oil/filter changes often. Keep an eye on all fluids, etc. I only use gasoline from Shell because it is said to have a better effect on your engine in the long run as opposed to other brands of gas.

I don't know...maybe I'm too much of a freak about it...but I never want to lose her now that I've got her.

That's a nice looking list Craig!! Have you ever run on a track? What kind of times do you run and what mods have you done?

As the my post says mods are Air lid and a Catback Exhaust with a couple free mods designed to get more air to the engine, that and I have a debaffled Ram Air Hood. Best time ever was 13.57 @ 106 mph at Milan dragway. But like I said this car has always been a DD and I refused to launch it above 3000 rpm at the track for fear of not being able to make it home. Obviuosly the car has more in it but at 121K she is starting to feel a little tired. 2 years ago She dynoed 300 RWHP and 322 RWTQ on a dynapack at 109K miles while still on the original clutch.
I am currently in the process of upgrading the suspension getting a new clutch/flywheel kit and new Hydraulics I was thinking of freshening up the top end with new valvesprings and a Cam to bring out some new life. But I've also been looking at an LS6 Longblock and thought of maybe adding the cam to that. New exhaust is also in the works along with a set of Longtube headers, and maybe some 4.10 gears.
Heres a couple of pics over the last few yrs

No one has really ever had a "go" at racing me when im driving the Bird, i think its the noise and presence that puts people off, most just pull over and smile.

In my younger days i used to run alot of British tin with various engines and enjoyed alot of " wins " ......... those were the days....... married, children etc ..... i feel old!
