The trio that brought us the first “2010 Trans Am” built from the Camaro platform unveiled at the Trans Am Nationals back in August, recently pulled the cover off of their second TA concept at the 2009 SEMA show in Las Vegas. Dubbed the Phoenix TA, the stealth like SEMA version included the addition of ground effects package, quad head lights, a ProCharger supercharger, Hurst shifter, Eibach lowering package, retro snowflake wheels and lots more.

The group behind the concept is Designer Kevin Morgan of Canton, PA, Trans Am Depot of Tallahassee, FL and Otto Body Custom of Lincoln, NE. Morgan said the alliance is in the process of building three more cars that will incorporate design changes prior to tooling up for conversion kits that will be released in early spring of 2010. Morgan says the changes will include a “rework” of the rear tail section and deck lid spoiler, the addition of front and rear wheel spoilers, interior options and more. For more information on the Phoenix TA, it’s progress and how to get one, visit www.transamdepot.com

Hi, Kevin - this one looks amazing! I love the step-change improvements over the original that was unveiled at the Nats.

Wonder what the chances might be of having one of the prototypes tour the ISCA show circuit? We just concluded the 2009 Houston AutoRama, which kicks off the new ISCA season each year. It was a blast, as Hooper can attest.

Also, I understand that there has been some misscommunications regarding the pricing structure of the Phoenix TA. I realize that the number that are floating around on the web (~$80k) refer to the turnkey prototype. I'd encourage you to get out in front of this issue with the real numbers one might expect to pay once full production ramps up. It would be a shame to throw water on all the enthusiasm for this car because of a simple missunderstanding.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours!
may God bless...

You are doing a great job, Kevin! That thing is beautiful! It's great to see that someone is making the dream come true for all Firebird owners who would like to see new ones on the road again. You're our only chance since Pontiac is gone. Keep up the good work! We're all behind ya for support.
