On my way home from work, I stopped at a church to look at a car (a Trans-Am of course) that had been sitting there a while. Then, I got back in my truck (86 Shortbox) and she wouldn’t start. I assumed, at that point, she was jealous...

I had to call my wife to bring me to get a battery, so I was busted looking at yet another project. Oops... At least it all I was guilty of was looking at a car and being at church

Has this ever happened to you?

From my Myspace blog, dated July 5, 2006:

I think I've been accused of cheating! Well, not in the human sense, but in the automotive realm. Funny, too, because cars aren't supposed to get jealous when you lavish attention on another. What's this all about, you ask?

You probably know that I've been keeping two mistresses: Gray Ghost and Olde Yeller. Well, I finally put some time, effort and coin into the Mustang and she's looking GOOD (if I dare say so myself)! Cheryl thought it would be cool to be able to drive both cars in our local Independance Day Parade. I thought that would be great, as she likes old cars but doesn't share the passion for them that I've got. So I thought 'hey, this could be a good thing'.

Olde Yeller's been sitting for about 7 years, even though I fired the motor last summer but couldn't get her rolling under her own power. But I finally got the transmission fixed and re-did the brakes - the going was good but the stopping left a little to be desired. Long story short: the Mustang is finally ready for the prime time and some top-down Saturday evening cruises.

So I'm detailing both cars for the parade and lift the latch to open the passenger door on Gray Ghost - nothing. Door won't budge, it's like welded shut! A quick analysis reveals the hard truth: even line between the door and the front fender; narrowing line from bottom to top where the rear of the door meets the unibody. The frame has sagged. That's not a good thing. The driver door is fine, so it looks like very restricted duty for the Ghost for awhile.
